Reader Paul K. sent us a query today about how to go about getting each of the champion dungeon tabards available at level 80, and since I'm about to hit level 80 (hopefully will be doing it tonight), I figured I'd do the work so the rest of you don't have to. Wearing these WOW Dungeon reputation tabards will give you faction reputation for whatever tabard you're wearing in the endgame 5mans, so instead of running Steam Vaults over and over and over for Cenarion Expedition rep (oh man am I tired of that grind), you can just put on one of these, and then run whatever instances you want.
There are currently four factions that you can champion in the game, and all of the tabards for each are available at Friendly. So you'll need at least friendly with all of the factions -- Wyrmrest Accord, Knights of the Ebon Blade, Kirin Tor, and the Argent Crusade -- before you go around to pick them all up. Getting there isn't hard at all -- if you've leveled by questing, you should have built up the necessary reputation (the one exception in my case is the Knights of the Ebon Blade -- I'm neutral right now, but I haven't really done any questing in Icecrown yet at all).

Wyrmrest Accord
This is very much a Dragonblight faction -- doing the Wrathgate quests (which you should have done anyway, they're aweseome) and any other quests you find in the big Dragonblight zone should get you up to Friendly. Tabard of the Wyrmrest Accord is available from their Quartermaster in Wyrmrest Temple, Cielstrasza, who totally is a dragon, for 1g at Friendly.
Knights of the Ebon Blade
Dutchess Mynx sells this tabard for 1g at Friendly, but in order to have access to her, you first need to complete the Shadow Vault quests in Icecrown. The chain starts off with "It's All Fun and Games," and running it to finish will not only let you see some great phasing action in one of the last instances in the game so far, but probably rep you right up to Friendly anyway.
Argent Crusade
Unfortunately, the old Tabard of the Argent Dawn that we got from the world event doesn't work in this case. You need to upgrade to the Tabard of the Argent Crusade, available from their quartermaster in Icecrown. You'll find him at the Argent Vanguard camp to the southeast.
Kirin Tor
This is the faction of the old mages in Dalaran -- if you need rep to get to Friendly, you can find them scattered around the world, or you can do Dalaran dailies, including the normal Dungeon daily quests. You can find the quartermaster in the city's Violet Citadel, and he'll sell you the tabard for 1g when you've got the rep for it.
There you go -- you can run around and get one or all of them, and then whenever you don one of the tabards, you'll get a buff that lets you gain reputation for the faction of your choice when running the endgame and heroic instances. It's probably a good guess that future patches will add in new factions to champion, so as soon as you hit 80, it's probably a good idea to run around and grab the WOW Dungeon reputation tabards so you have them whenever you head off to an instance.

I was only level 73 when I first zoned in and knew I was going to get pwned by all the level 80s running amok, but to my surprise there turns out to be a feature that levels the playing field: siege vehicles.
Hoping into a catapult or manning a tower cannon eliminates the level difference between you and your opponent. In no time, I was laying waste to the enemy and racking up the Honor Points. I was suddenly having so much fun that I forgot to look for mining nodes (which is good, since the roaming mobs in the zone are level 80.)
Now, when I log on, the first thing I do is check how long until the next Wintergrasp battle starts (two and a half hours after the last one ends). For those who haven't tried any kind of WoW PvP I recommend trying your hand at piloting a Demolisher in Lake Wintergrasp WOW at least once. You may find yourself enjoying the game in a whole new way.

WOW Storm Peaks is the penultimate zone in Northrend, and a welcome return to navigational complexity. The Sons of Hodir have the dubious honor of being probably the most difficult essential faction to rep up with, but that's going to get much easier in 3.0.8 when Relics of Ulduar become a rep turn-in. Anyway, I'd better get on with the FPs; there are quite a few of them.
Neutral
K3 (41,83), run by the goblins, is the entry point to WOW Storm Peaks (and a pun off a famous mountain). I only wish we could ride on rockets all the time out of this one.
Dun Niffelem (63,61) is a heavily phased Frost Giant town, headquarters of the Sons of Hodir. You will not be able to go here without being attacked before doing some significant questing (but don't worry, they're very enjoyable quests).
Bouldercrag Refuge, in the northwest of the zone, has a flight master at 31,36.
There's also a small cluster of NPCs up near the Ulduar instances, including a flight master (45,28), a repairer, and a reagent vendor. This is very handy for those Halls of Stone and Halls of Lightning runs (both of which are pretty nasty on heroic, in my opinion, especially the Tribunal and Loken). It will become even more essential in patch 3.1, when the Ulduar raid is due to be added.
Alliance
5. Frosthold (30,74) is the hub for some essential questing; I don't want to give anything away, but it's a very dwarf-heavy town. It's also your opportunity to pick up aboot flask for the low price of 10 relics before it gets raised to 250 in 3.0.8.
Horde
5. Grom'arsh Crash Site is situated in the north center of WOW Storm Peaks;its flight master is at 36,49.
- 6. Camp Tunka'lo, filled with those nifty Taunka, is in eastern Storm Peaks. You can catch a flight out of it at 66,51. There's an interesting idea that the flight master, Hyeyoung Parker, is named after a Korean actress; it is certainly an unusual name for WoW.

If you haven't heard it yet, here's some news. Your Albino Drake? Not so special anymore. Sure it was fun while it lasted, but it was never really that rare of a special mount. The Proto-drake mounts are harder to come by. Not to mention those drop only mounts that are based completely on luck. So what is the rarest of the rare? Yep, a new mount. Dragonhawk. It appears that two colors will be available, red and blue. There's a possibility that they are color coordinated towards faction, but hopefully they aren't. The Dragonhawk mounts look extremely unique, there's no other mount type like it in the game.
There's a few locations in game right now where there are NPCs riding on the backs of dragonhawks if you want to see how it looks. For the Red Dragonhawk Mount the most notable spot is probably anything Blood Elf. On Sunwell Isle, you can ride one yourself doing one of the dalies, or taking the flight paths around Eversong Woods and Silvermoon. To check out the Blue Dragonhawk Mount the best place is no further than Dalaran; located on Krasus' Landing, the NPC Hira Snowdan is riding one. Hira Snowdan's mount may not be the final Blue Dragonhawk Mount model as it could easily be a Violet Dragonhawk from the colors.
Achieving the Achievement
So how do you get this new mount? A new achievement of course. Patch 3.08, which is currently on the Public Test Realms, includes a new achievement called Mountain o' Mounts. This is an extension on the old achievement Leading the Cavalry. While Leading the Cavalry required a player to stable 50 unique mounts, WOW Mountain 'o Mounts really pushes the bar. The new achievement requires 100 unique mounts. Probably when this achievement was announced the first question most people had was wondering if this is even possible. Obtaining 50 mounts before WotLK hit was considered a major feat, essentially requiring exalted status with all home factions. Just like with the old achievement, Warlock and Paladin and Death Knight class special mounts count towards the total.

Because there were less mounts obtainable by the Horde faction pre-WotLK, the following list of mount totals is taken from the Horde perspective. Before WotLK came out, the average Horde player had access to around 66 mounts. Or 45 if you happen to be a Tauren. These are non special mounts that can be grinded for through either rep or token turn in. There's around 10 more mounts of the rare quality that could be achieved through running instances, and even a few more that were rare to start with and can't be obtained anymore.
So starting from a base total of 66 mounts, poor Taurens, and adding to it the Albino Drake you'd get on the way to 100 anyway, there needs to be at least 33 new mounts in WotLK for the average player. Short answer, there aren't. Long answer, there are very few new mounts added to the game with WotLK and definitely not enough to meet 33.
- There are four new mounts from Mei Francis vendor.
- There are 6 new ground mounts, but trying to get them involves a lot of luck or a lot of gold. The Mechano-hog for example: the new engineering motorcycle mount has a 12,500g price tag even if you farm all of the other mats required by yourself.
- Tailors get really lucky here with the ability to craft 6 unique mounts to add to their totals. Players attempting to get this Mountain o' Mounts achievement as soon as possible are probably going to want to drop whatever profession they have and level Tailoring.
- WotLK also added an additional 8 flying mounts. Drakes and Proto-drakes. These are going to be the hardest mounts to get, most of them requiring 25 man raid achievements.
- So there is a total of 24 new mounts that are possible to achieve.
So Much For That...
Anybody going after 100 mounts is going to have to not only put in a large amount of effort, but hopefully already have most of the unique pre-WotLK mounts under their belts. Having to go back and grind Zul'Gurub for a Tiger or Heroic Magisters Terrace for a Chicken would not only be incredibly time consuming, but the chances are so slim it could take until the next expansion before someone could get them all. There are most definitely 100 unique mounts in the game that can be achieved. Most players have no chance of getting that number with the current amount of mounts in the game.
If you just have to get this mount and you're not already pushing 70+, the best option is probably to wait. More mounts will eventually be added into the game, making this achievement easier, and there's no sense going on endless Baron runs if you don't care about the Baron mount besides it getting you to 100. Another reason to wait is that originally the Ablino Drake achievement required 75 mounts, until it was realized Taurens couldn't even get that many. Most likely Blizzard will lower the required number of mounts down to 75 or 80. Then again this may just be one of those hardcore player rewards where you shouldn't expect to see more than 2 or 4 players with them a server. If you're going after this WOW Mountain o' Mounts, I wish you good luck.

My articles are always free and very knowledgeable, I've been playing WoW everyday for over 2 years.
I'll start out by saying that the very fastest way to level a character in the World of Warcraft is to use a world of warcraft power leveling guide. Always logout from an inn, the rested XP you'll gain by doing this is great. Always keep your hearthstone set to the nearest town you are questing in, this way when you are ready to logout you'll be able to hearth back to the nearest inn and get the rested XP. The hearthstone is also nice because if you are too far away to run back to town quickly to turn in quests, you can always hearth back to turn them in. Save all of your money so that you can purchase your mount as soon as you get level 30 and your epic at 60. Don't waste time in the auction house or in battlegrounds. If you really want to level fast with the help of the wow power leveling guides you can go back and do this later.
It is also a great idea to have a alt on that server near a mailbox, so when you get items you want to keep, like for a profession or something else you can mail the items to your alt and send them back whenever you need them. A mailbox has unlimited space for 30 days at a time so use it wisely. Questing add-ons can help you more than you could understand without trying them. The add-ons I suggest using are Questhelper or Carbonite, both will plot out the quest coordinates and guide you in the right direction.
Always make sure before you leave a town you have plenty of food, drink and ammo. This is important so that you aren't wasting time running back to town a lot. Also purchase bigger bags as soon as you can, some people like to loot EVERYTHING so this will save them time so they won't be filling up their space so quickly.

A Rogue who joined our Guild run last night for the first time in 25-man Naxxramas got an epic from almost every boss we downed, ending up with him getting an epic upgrade in five slots in one run. It was like Christmas came early. On the other hand, a Paladin in plate like my character has to compete with all the newfangled Death Knights. WOW Vehicle Mounts
Have you met wow vehicle mounts,today we are going to talk about it,let's get to the point now.
Here's an interesting mount change -- it probably won't change the way you actually use your mounts, but it is a behind-the-scenes glimpse into how vehicles are working out at Blizzard. Zarhym says that in a future patch (maybe as soon as 3.1), all wow vehicle mounts will be changed back into regular mounts. Right now, when you "summon" a flying carpet, it actually shows up as a vehicle to the game, unlike a normal mount, which is basically just an extension of your character. But after the change comes down (whenever that is), summonable vehicle mounts (which may or may not include the Chopper?) will work just like regular mounts.
This won't mean much in the actual UI (though it may change where your mount is saved -- I haven't picked up a vehicle mount yet, so I'm not sure if they appear on the mounts screen or not), but what it does mean is that Blizzard is stepping back from the vehicle interface. It's been buggy from the beginning, since beta and even after release, and while it's unlikely Blizzard will remove vehicles from the game, at least for the mount/vehicles, they're planning to go with the old mount code rather than have everyone using the vehicle code for that.

It's finally here. The real reason I rushed to 80 and moderately gear up by mid-December is because I wanted to be ready for WOW Arena Season 5. To be quite honest, now that it's here, I'm a bit nervous. Not nervous, that's not the right word... giddy, I think, excited like a six-year old going to the playground. Strangely, though, I've been having so much fun in Wintergrasp that I've hardly given a thought to Arenas.
Now that I've given mulled it over a bit, I realize that the gear gap -- or lack of one -- is going to become immediately palpable simply because so much gear is readily available in Northrend. Any player who has just hit 80 will have immediate options for gear, and it won't be so hard to catch up or gear up for Arenas. Even without Resilience, so much gear has massive amounts of Stamina. I mean over 100 Stamina for a trinket? That's kind of insane. Players have so many options for gear now that some people won't even be doing Arenas to get Arena gear.
It's going to be a completely different ballgame. The presence of Death Knights will completely change Arena PvP, as it already has in PvE. Knockback effects such as Thunderstorm or Typhoon will be exciting tools in the movement-heavy environment. How will players react to a sudden Death Grip into the opposing team's kill zone? Will HoT-impairing effects like Shadow Embrace or Plague Strike be enough to curb Druid dominance? We'll see. It's exciting. Are you prepared for WOW Arena Season 5? Not just in terms of gear, but psyched and ready for the unpredictability of the metagame, at least for the first few weeks?

It's unusual that this one was so cheap, but it's probably a side effect of the item originally only having one charge in earlier incarnations of the item. Nowadays it has infinite uses but with a cooldown, so that higher price is deserved. You still have a chance to get it before the price change, and I really recommend you do. Especially when you consider the other change coming to the Relics and the Sons of Hodir.
Sons of Hodir reputation will be made a little easier using these Relics, because you'll be able to turn them in ten at a time to the Sons Quartermaster for 250 reputation per turn-in. I highly, highly recommend buying the boot flask as soon as possible at the current 10 Relic price if you want it, or you'll have wasted 240 perfectly good Relics! That's 6,000 rep you could have earned. Or, you know, a ton of gold on the auction house since they'll no longer be BoP.

Each Tier of each pairing has its own influence pool and rewards, for a total of 12 pools for each Realm. You see, there's currently a bug with some quest mobs in Sholazar Basin that's tagging them, perhaps incorrectly, as beasts. The Oracles' daily quest A Cleansing Song sends you off to kill some evil spirits -- the Spirit of Ha-Khalan, a ghostly crocolisk; the Spirit of Atha, a spectral Hydra; and the Spirit of Koosu, your run-of-the-mill ooze.
The Spirit of Ha-Khalan was tameable, so some Hunters got really cool, transluscent crocolisk pets. I mean, who needs WOW Spirit Beasts? Entertainingly enough, the other two quest mobs were also classified as beasts and were likewise tameable. Eventually some Hunters were running around with a spooky hydra or, like my friend, a disgusting little pile of snot.
Aside from waiting for the right daily quest, these wow hunter pets aren't nearly as hard to tame as the ghost wolves of yore. Will Blizzard let Hunters keep their slimy little companions just as some lucky few were able to keep their spirit guides? We'll see. Hopefully. What's so wrong about a slime that thinks it's a crocolisk, anyway? The pets are considered Crocolisks and share Crocolisk family traits, with the Bad Attitude special ability and Tenacity talent tree.

Today, we'll be looking at Wrath Flight Paths in Grizzly Hillsby , the next zone after Borean Tundra, Howling Fjord, and Dragonblight level-wise. There aren't a ton of flight points there - just two each for Horde and Alliance.
Horde:
- Kragh, at 22,65 in Conquest Hold, in the west part of the map, is your first stop in the Hills, more than likely.
- Later on you'll get some quests to take you over to Camp Oneqwah, whose flight master is Makki Wintergale, at 65,47.
Alliance:
- Just over the river from the Horde's Conquest Hold is the Alliance base of Amberpine Lodge, with Vana Gray at 31,59. (A reference to a certain long-running game show, perhaps?)
- After doing some quests there (or if you just get bored) you'll be sent over to see some familiar faces at the Westfall Brigade Encampment. Samuel Clearbrook will pack you on a gryphon at 60,27.
Depending on rest XP, how many instances you do, whether you do both starting zones, etc., you might be getting your own wings back as early as Grizzly Hills, which really speeds things up. However, if not, or if you're still stuck on a pokey old normal-speed flying mount, be sure to catch my next installment, on Zul'Drak.

The other day, we talked about the Sons of Hodir and how to start gaining reputation with them. Rep gains are great and all, but there's actually another bonus you can start working on thanks to this quest chain: A wow Polar Bear mount! At one point during the Sons of Hodir chain, you're turned into one of the Hyldnir, the frost vrykul ladies that populate the Storm Peaks. While only a few of their quests are essential to moving the story ahead, they have other one-shot quests you have available if you so choose.
Completing these quests opens up a daily quest you can do when you return to Brunnhildar Village, though you don't get to do all of them every day. It seems only one or two of them are available per day, and which ones you get is random, like the Cooking daily quests. If they don't seem to be offering you a quest at all one day, you probably haven't unlocked the one that happens to be that day's quest. The following are the four quests you need to do first:
- Aberrations
- Into the Pit
- Discipline
- Taking on All Challengers
And the daily quests they unlock:
- The Aberrations Must Die
- Back to the Pit
- Maintaining Discipline
- Defending Your Title
Completing these daily quests rewards you with the most fickle item in the world: Hyldnir Spoils. Along with a few gold, you can either get a little bit of food/water, some snowballs, or you can get a super awesome mount (with a 1% droprate). Hmm, do I hope for the super worthless reward, or the super awesome one? Oh boy, I hope I get the food!

The folks over at Mythic have been epically busy on patches and fixes for Warhammer Online of late. On Tuesday, we reported on warhammer patch 1.0.6, which brought tons of changes for classes and combat. Now it seems the RvR performance issues are getting some of their previously-promised love in the form of a client update to help boost frame rate and reduce flickering effects... And warhammer patch 1.1 is live on the test server with the intention of releasing today.
With a whopping 14 pages of patch notes and development preceding that of warhammer 1.0.6 patch , patch 1.1 warhammer promises to bring updates to nearly all aspects of the game. There will be new careers available, UI changes, the ability to hyperlink in chat, and most excitingly the new open RvR influence system. You can even get a statue of your character put up in the capital. Strike a pose!
On the flip side, since warhammer patch 1.1 was begun prior to the release of 1.0.6, the developers are quick to point out that it is not meant to address any issues arising from the most recent patch. Several hot fixes already went in yesterday to regular and public quests to make them function as designed since 1.0.6 warhammer patch. There are new healers in the Dark Elf and High Elf Chapter One areas and one in the Black Crag Order war camp as well. And you should not be getting incorrect zone messages anymore either. Just don't expect warhammer 1.1 patch to fix all the Warhammer world's ills.

Warhammer 1.1.0 Update Coming,Warhammer 1.1.0 Patch
The Warhammer herald has been updated with information on WAR's public test server, and highlights of the warhammer 1.1.0 Patch which adds two new classes, the Open RvR Influence System, revamped public quests, and more.
The Warhammer Public Test Server is coming soon, so in the meantime we wanted to provide you with instructions on how you can get onto the server as well as how to copy your characters and jump right into testing.
The purpose of the Warhammer Public Test Server (warhammer PTS) is for the players to help us refine and test the latest version of the game by experiencing the changes firsthand and providing feedback and bug reports to Mythic. As such, we want to remind you that the content introduced to this server is still considered "in development," and that bugs and issues not found on the LIVE server may occur on the PTS. All features and fixes listed below are subject to change until we release wahammer 1.1.0 update to all live servers.
When leaving Feedback or Bug Reports we encourage you to provide details on why you feel the way you do or why you think something needs to be fixed. It's also important to note that when you submit a Bug Report, it automatically records your location in game so be sure to submit them at the location where you experienced them when you can!
To access the Public Test Server, locate the new patcher: testpatch.exe in your main Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning directory. This file will be automatically downloaded when the Public Test Server is opened.
Simply run the testpatch.exe file to start the patcher. Just like the live game, it will download everything automatically, just click play and you're good to go!

WOW Arena Season 5 Begins on December 17th
Cheers! WOW Arena Season 5 will Begin on December 17th.
Gnorog on the EU forums posted notice a while ago that Season 4 is over. That means that all arena teams and ratings have been cleared, and arena charter NPCs have been disabled.
Your arena points will stay with you until you reach level 71 however.
But the end of Season 4 isn't the news.
WOW Arena Season 5 will begin on December 17th for those players that have reached level 80. That's just a few days away. For those that haven't, the skirmish brackets of 71-75 and 76-80 are available. The time is now to start organizing your arena teams and get them in gear for the upcoming events.
With all the changes in Wrath the next arena season promises to be interesting. Here's to bigger and better weapons! cheers !

WOW Free Realm Transfers Changed
Good news: Bornakk posted an update on some of the wow free realm transfers that have been going on.
- All transfers to the Drak'Tharon realm have been shut down.
- They have extended the timeframe to transfer to the Oceanic realm Gundrak.
- Saurfang is now also eligible to transfer to Gundrak.
Transfers to Gundrak will now close down on Monday, December 8th at 12:00 p.m. PST. Be sure to transfer early (like, tonight) if you want to. They have been shutting down transfers early when their quotas are met.

All those Warhammer Online players who where playing along with the warhammer Heavy Metal event in November will be happy to know that today the fruits of their labor has arrived. That's right: Today, Mythic brings us Black Guards and Knights of the Blazing Sun! For those who didn't finish the full Heavy Metal event warhammer, don't worry, the classes will become available to everyone next week. Servers are going down at 3:30AM PST / 6:30AM EST for North American players with Oceanic servers following at 9:00AM EST. No specific time-frame was given for the updating process, so we'll just have to sit tight and wait it out.
New classes aren't the only thing found in this patch, however. There's a ton of general game updates, performance updates, bug fixes and class tweaks coming with the warhmmer 1.0.6 patch, too. In fact, there are so many class tweaks that Bright Wizards, Chosen, Engineers, Ironbreakers, Maguses (Magi?), Shadow Warriors, Sorcerers, Squig Herders and Swordmasters are all getting their mastery points refunded. Combat also seems to be a big focus, with a ton of improvements to auto-attack animations, ability responsiveness, morale responsiveness and root responsiveness.
All in all, we're pretty impressed with Mythic on this 1.0.6 warhammer patch, as it delivers some substantial changes that many players have been waiting to see.

Earlier this year, Blizzard won the prank wars with World of Warcraft Molten Core, a faux ATARI game based on World of Warcraft's Molten Core raid complete with eight directions of movement, glorious 2D graphics and, yes, sound. We bet you thought that was just a joke, and that everyone would have forgotten about it after a week had gone by, but guess what? It's back, and this time it's real!
Gamer's University made a "port" of the ATARI game for WIndows PCs, and it includes all that was promised in Blizzard's trailer. One player plays as a priest, the other as a warrior, and each has eight movement directions and one action button (heal for the priest, attack for the warrior) with which to defeat the ten bosses. Hard to believe people used to pay big bucks for these sorts of games, isn't it?

The warhammer 1.06 update you've all been waiting for is almost here! We wanted to thank everyone who tested and provided feedback on this update's content.
On Tuesday, 12/2/08 all servers will be brought offline to begin the 1.0.6 update warhammer . North American servers will be brought down at 6:30AM EST with Oceanic servers to follow at 9:00AM EST.
This is our biggest update yet! It's chock-full of exciting career changes and heralds the debut of the highly anticipated Black Guard and Knight of the Blazing Sun careers. If you've finished the Heavy Metal event and have opened your Heavy Metal Chest, then you will be able to play a Black Guard and Knight of the Blazing Sun when this patch goes live (before anyone else!). For those of you who did not complete the Heavy Metal event, don't fret! You, too, will be able to play these two new careers starting next week.
This 1.0.6 warhammer update is so massive that we needed to split the notes into two sections. So, without further ado, on with the notes! WAAAGH!!!
